Marlowe

Pin It Now!
Toasted Pistachios with bourbon, maple & smoked salt

Overall this dish was ok.  I expected a lot more just based on the description.  Tasted like a honey roasted peanut.

Crispy Brussels Sprout Chips with
lemon & sea salt
Most ingenious dish ever!  I have never seen a preparation of brussels sprouts like this.   Each leaf of a brussels sprout is peeled off and deep fried and lightly tossed with a sprinkle of sea salt and lemon squeeze.  Crispy, flakey, and so snackable.  I could eat bowlfuls of this.  They should sell this by the bags.

Roasted bone marrow with salsa verde & herbs
I LOVE roasted bone marrow.  Very few restaurants in SF actually serve it.  I ate at this restaurant specifically for the bone marrow and the burger.  I like how its plated horizontal versus the commonly seen vertical cut - it makes it easier to scoop out the yummy goodness.  It was so flavorful.  The only downside was I felt like there was too many capers.

Smokey cauliflower gratin with aged provolone and smoked cheddar
WOW! I wasn't expecting much from this dish, but it reminded me of the cauliflower at Ubuntu.  So perfectly creamy and cheesy.  Comfort food at its best!

“Poulet Vert” heirloom tomatoes, fingerling potatoes & spring onions
Totally unexpected amazing dish.  The chicken was tender, juicy.  The meat just fell off the bone.

Marlowe burger with caramelized onions, cheddar, bacon, horseradish aioli & fries
Common contender of the bay area's best burgers from food critics.  This burger was juicy and well balanced with a kick from the horseradish aioli, but the star of this dish was the fries.  Crispy with just the perfect amount of salt with a sprinkle of parsley.

Verdict:             This place offers good quality, solid American fare.  I would go back for just the brussels sprout chips.  Delicious.
